What is a notice number?
A notice number is a unique number issued on a traffic fine, usually around 16 digits long. The notice number can be found on the traffic fine issued.
For which Municipal Councils can traffic fines be Viewed & Paid?

How can I search for a traffic fine?
A traffic fine search can be performed using one of three methods:
  1. Notice Number only,
  2. South African Identity Number only, or
  3. Combination of Vehicle Registration Number and South African Identity
Can I select which type of traffic fines I want to view?
You can refine your search for a traffic fine, by selecting one of the following options:
  • Payable – traffic fines which can be paid
  • Not Payable – traffic fines which can not be paid, for reasons such as:
    1. traffic fine has already been paid
    2. traffic fine is in warrent of execution - enquiries can be made at Local Authority
    3. fines issued i.t.o. the AARTO regulations can not be paid via this channel
  • All traffic fines which match the search criteria.
Who can I contact if I cannot find a traffic fine using the traffic fine search?
Refer to the list of participating Local Authorities to obtain the contact numbers of the various traffic authorities.
