What is AutoPay?
AutoPay is a payment product provided by Standard Bank of South Africa (SBSA). It allows registered Standard Bank Internet Banking registered users to make a secure payment using their ATM Card as a method of payment from any AutoPay enabled merchant’s website.
What is required to make an AutoPay Payment?
You need to be a registered Standard Bank Internet Banking user with a valid Standard Bank account.
How do I pay using AutoPay?
Step 1: Select the 'Yes' button on the Autopay screen. You will now be directed to the Standard Bank Internet Banking login page.
Step 2: Enter your card number and password and select the 'Logon' button
Step 3: Select the Standard Bank account from which you want to pay and select 'Continue'
Step 4: Confirm the payment transaction details by selecting the 'Pay' button.
Step 5: Your transaction result will be displayed. Select the 'Return to merchant' button to come back to the Virtual Post Office Service website
Why do I need to be a registered Standard Bank Internet banking customer to use the AutoPay Payment method?
The AutoPay payment method is linked to the secure Standard Bank Internet Banking environment that will facilitate a payment from a third party site.

Is this method of payment secure?
AutoPay allows you to make payments using a secure connection with Standard Bank (SBSA). On selecting the AutoPay payment option, your Internet browser will be temporarily removed from the Virtual Post Office Service website and redirected to the SBSA Secure Payment System website (the "Secure Site", "this Site"). Once on this Site, neither Virtual Post Office Service, nor any other person will have access to information exchanged between you and SBSA.
Can anybody else access my account information?
No, once you have selected AutoPay, a secure session (using 128bit encryption) is created with SBSA until the transaction is concluded or cancelled.
Can I make payment from any one of my Standard Bank accounts?
Payment can only be made from transaction accounts linked to your ATM Card.
How long before Virtual Post Office Service receives payment?
Payments are processed on receipt of the successful payment request. The Virtual Post Office Service SBSA account is updated immediately with the funds.
How can I prove that payment has been made?
As soon as a payment has been successfully submitted, a system-generated confirmation will be sent to both you and Virtual Post Office Service.
